Lauren Daigle receives 2X RIAA PlatinumŽ award plus two additional RIAA certifications, Centricity signs Rachel Purcell, Bay Turner, label re-launches imprint, Residence Music
Each week, dozens of singles and a handful of projects are released in the Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) and Urban Soul spaces. Below, we listen to a few highlights and list the rest for your own discovery. As always, follow our New Christian Rap & Hip Hop playlist on Spotify to listen to all the latest.
Peabod feat. AKLESSO - "Big Feelings" First thing to rejoice over is the fact that neither rapper is spittin' bars over a trap beat. The beat and production is everything except trap. A little go-go feel. A little edgy feel. Overall, definitely catchy even though I cannot explain it in a few short words. Just listen for yourself. Independent rapper AKLESSO gave fans some of his best bars yet. Listen carefully to the wordplay, it's brilliant. Centricity's Peabod returns after a short hiatus with a certified bop. He gives fans a taste of his own feelings and reactions to the current world we're navigating through.
1K Phew feat. 1k Pson - "New Fourth of July" Speaking of trap music, Reach Records' 1K Phew is one artist which has mastered the style and flow. His feature 1K Pson has a similar flow which works well with Phew's cadence. A few weeks back, the duo released "Outside" declaring one summer anthem after another. These two tracks combined work well for a summer soundtrack at your next barbeque gathering.
YAFEELME EP by Daisha McBride
Daisha doesn't waste any time on her latest release going in. The first track may be short, but it's essentially a freestyle which she bodies sixteen after sixteen. Next up, she exchanges bars with indie tribe's nobigdyl. Then, Reflection Music Group's, and long time friend, Byron Juane blesses our ears with that R&B vibe. The rest of the EP is a mix of McBride's domination of the mic as a veteran emcee and sweet harmonies pleasing to any ear. Compact in nature, yet the project screams replay value. To catch the wordplay schemes. To take in the soulful blends. To appreciate just how incredible of a multi-talented artist McBride represents.
