Village Lights is a collective worship group made up of three individual artists (Ike Nodolo, Sarah Kroger, and Ricky Vasquez) who come together to worship. They have created a sound unique to them but more importantly, they have created a community.
They have been making their music available to the public since earlier this year which has led up to the recent release of their first full length album, "Kingdom." This group is passionate about the Lord and making a space where others are welcome to worship Him. We take a look at two songs from the new record below.
NEW: "Promised Land"
On the road of our salvation Freedom rises like the sun On the ones who went before us And the ones still yet to come
Engaging in spiritual battle is a difficult concept to process because it is not a tangible fight. However, as Christians, we are constantly in a state of warfare against the enemy who wants to foil God's plans for our lives. I've learned over the years that Satan especially loves to place voices in my head to discourage me. To defend my vulnerable mind, I have an almost constant stream of worship music going and I pray. Prayer is the one thing that can never become overrated because it truly works miracles.
Satan's tactics may feel personal to you, but he uses the same few on everyone, so banding together with other believers and encouraging each other is always an excellent idea. Lord, I pray that you will "shake the dust off my feet" and lead me to "wherever you are" because that is "my promised land!"
NEW: "Here Is Our Hallelujah"
Hallelujah, hallelujah
To the Name above all names
We will join with all the saints
Singing hallelujah, hallelujah
I find it insanely humbling to think about joining with the saints and angels in worship. It reminds me that everything on this Earth was made to praise God, every little detail perfectly arranged for His glory. Sometimes, in our quest for satisfaction, we believe that we've finally hit the ultimate position of control; that sense of power can be dangerous. God is the only one holding the reins.
Even if we decide one morning that we don't feel like worshipping, all of creation goes on singing without us. We won't have any spectacular moment of rebellion, just a saddening day of isolation from the King. Your purpose is to praise and I hope you accept it, because it's the best feeling when you do.
