Iconic Christian contemporary band Third Day made music from the late 1990s through the end of the 2010s. Driven by lead vocalist Mac Powell's signature southern baritone, you could instantly recognize the band whether they were firing up some guitar-driven southern rock or leading a passionate worship session.

In 2001, the band's popularity continued to grow. With several albums already under their belt, their album, Come Together, was a release done as mature veterans. As the album turns 20, we look back at some of the album's most iconic hits.

"Come Together"

The album's title cut introduced fans to the band's Southern rock style. The song comes complete with a catchy chorus that balances energy, hooks, and melody in just the right amounts. It's great to play in the summer in your car with the windows down.

"Come Together" was featured in the film 2006 film Facing the Giants. Also, the song's resonant message made it appropriate to use for more serious occasions, including as a tribute to 9/11. Given the album released in the shadow of that fateful day, the song became a beacon of encouragement and hope to many in those early months when the world changed.

"It's Alright"

"It's Alright" is a somber song about longing to be with a loved one again. This album highlight showcases the softer side of lead singer Mac Powell's vocals. And, it comes with a vibe that fits well on both contemporary and country formats. This song speaks to hurt many listeners feel, thus making it one of the more notable cuts on the album.

"40 Days"

Third Day amps up the sound on "40 Days," giving listeners a taste of their groovy Southern rock style.

Singing from a place of brokenness and pain, the singer reaches out to Christ in surrender and hope. Many listeners connected with Third Day's always relevant lyrics, the song's driving rock energy, and Mac's superb vocal delivery.

"Nothing Compares"

"Nothing Compares" is another one of Third Day's moving ballads. This slow-builder makes effective use of guitar hooks while crafting a gentler and accessible melody. The song builds to an anthemic finish that is a fine way to send off the album.

The worshipful lyrics transport the listener into a contemplative state, focusing on the greatness of our creator. Third Day has always excelled at crafting simple-yet-profound worship songs, and this song is a fine example.

"Show Me Your Glory"

If you polled the most recognizable Third Day songs, this one would arguably crack many Top 5 lists. It was a Christian radio smash hit and one of the band's most iconic songs of their first decade.

With a simple melody, worshipful chorus, and Mac Powell's signature vocals, the song managed to find a musical sweet spot that resonated with many fans. If you listened to Christian radio in the early 2000s, you probably heard this song a lot. Heck, you might still hear it frequently today.
