North Point Worship, formerly known as North Point Inside Out, is a musical group from Atlanta, GA. The group originally came out of the high school element of North Point Ministry; it has expanded since its start, becoming a large part of the live worship realm. The band's biggest hit is "Death Was Arrested" which came out in 2017.
Following that song, they released several albums and singles with a target audience of high school and college students. Their music is energetic and upbeat while still relaying a meaningful message about Jesus. On their website it says, their hope is "that every person who hears their music will be encouraged to follow Jesus more wholeheartedly." They most recently released the single "Deliverer" which we look at below in addition to a song off the Live from Decatur City EP that came out last year.
NEW: "Deliverer"
If I hear You speak, I don't need an explanation
If You tell me move, I don't need the destination
If what's promised, I never see
I'm still walking with You, still walking with me
The story behind this song is actually quite interesting. The band introduced the new tune at a youth retreat last year. Judging by this background, I assume that teenagers, like myself, are the target audience for this melody, but it definitely applies to everyone.
This song shook me. From the first lyric, I had a feeling that instantly kicked me off my distracting phone and told me to focus. It's like God was whispering right in my ear, "This is important Selena, you want to listen." I was talking to someone the other day about how we always second guess His voice; we are constantly asking him "but why?" Why do we have this doubt when it always works out as He says it will in the end? I suppose it's just part of our human nature; it's difficult to trust when we've been let down so many times by earthly things. But I guarantee God is different. He never gives up on you, and He is constantly applying His miracle working power to your life. If He's done it before, and the Bible is proof that He has, He will do it again.
NEW: "Anchor of Peace"
'Cause He's walking on the water
He'll calm your raging sea
Oh you don't have to look no farther
He's the hope that you need
The live video for this song is incredible and I highly suggest watching it. Genuine hope is written all over the face of each musician here; it's the kind of pure joy that could only come from God. I love seeing them express this peace through the song.
God is truly more beautiful than anything I could imagine. He's the perfect Savior, and better than anyone I could dream of. His constant affection for His children and the sacrifices He is willing to make just shock me everyday. I can't even comprehend His great love because it is so much bigger than the feelings I direct toward other humans. It's this expansive comfort He provides that gives me confidence enough to say He is right beside you. I've been in the position before where I didn't see Him and I didn't want to see Him. I thought I was doing fine on my own and I thought the world could fill up every empty spot I had. But I eventually realized that everything I was going to for satisfaction wasn't actually fulfilling me; it was just numbing me. Only God is the true distributor of peace and I urge you to surrender your heart to Him today so you can receive that magnificent blessing.
