Spring is one of my favorite seasons. After a long winter, something is healing and renewing about the weather warming up and seeing flowers begin to bloom again. It's like the whole world comes back to life after a season of darkness. It's truly a beautiful thing. As we begin to see flowers peeking out of the ground as the season changes, a new collection of music is beginning to emerge as well.
This spring, we can look forward to new releases from for KING & COUNTRY, Stars Go Dim, Steven Malcolm, and many other incredible artists. Without further ado, let's spring into our spring 2022 new music preview.
for KING & COUNTRY - What Are We Waiting For? (3/11)
for KING & COUNTRY was formed 15 years ago by Australian-born brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone. Together they've released dozens of hit songs and have won countless awards. Their success continues to climb, and on March 11, they'll be releasing their fourth studio album titled What Are We Waiting For?.
To top it all off, for KING & COUNTRY be hitting the road this spring for their headlining What Are We Waiting For? Tour. All their concerts are elaborate and cinematic, and they never fail to put on an amazing show. They'll be touring from coast-to-coast, so chances are they're coming to a city near you very soon--get your tickets here!
Honor & Glory - Honor & Glory (3/18)
It's not often that you hear about a group of rock and roll artists coming together to release worship music, but that's exactly what the guys in Disciple are doing. Kevin Young, Josiah Prince, and Joey West of the hard rock band Disciple are releasing their debut full-length worship album under the name Honor & Glory this March.
In 2021, they launched their worship project with their rendition of Phil Wickham's hit song "Battle Belongs," and later in the year, they followed it up with their original song "God Of My Story." Their songs are a wonderful fusion of rock and worship, and I have a feeling this is only the beginning of Honor & Glory.
Rebecca St. James - Kingdom Come (3/25)
On March 25, Rebecca St. James will be releasing her first full-length album since her 2011 release of I Will Praise You. Her forthcoming record, Kingdom Come, is a 12-track album that features Rebecca's previously released singles "Kingdom Come" featuring for KING & COUNTRY and "Battle Is The Lord's" featuring Brandon Lake, alongside new songs like "Ready for the Rain" and "Desert Bloom."
After a pause of 11 years between full-length albums, I think we all have permission to get excited about this new one from Rebecca St. James. She's a legendary artist, and it's encouraging to see her continuing her career in music.
The Belonging Co - Here [Live] (3/25)
The Belonging Co was founded in 2014 by Henry and Alex Seeley in Nashville, Tennessee. What started as a small gathering in Henry and Alex's basement turned into a church with thousands in attendance every week. Since the church is in Nashville, you can imagine they have some pretty great worship music. Unsurprisingly, their worship band started releasing albums in 2017, featuring artists like Lauren Daigle, Kari Jobe, Cody Carnes, and other incredible Nashville-based musicians.
On March 25, The Belonging Co will be releasing their fourth full-length live album titled Here. The 9-track album features guest vocals from Natalie Grant, Hope Darst, and some of their other worship leaders. With songs from so many different artists, The Belonging Co truly has something for everyone.
Love & The Outcome - Only Ever Always (4/1)
Since the release of their debut self-titled album in 2013, husband and wife duo Jodi King and Chris Rademaker have been releasing pop-inspired music together while raising two adorable kiddos. For them, music is a family affair, and they've found a way to balance their busy touring life while prioritizing their family of four. But the journey hasn't been easy.
In early 2021, Chris and Jodi's house flooded during a huge storm in Nashville. So when they released their single, "I'm Not Lucky, I'm Blessed," in January 2022, it took on a whole new meaning. That song is featured on their upcoming album Only Ever Always, which will be released on April 1. After everything Chris and Jodi have been through, this album seems a little bit like redemption after a trying season. Only Ever Always is an album that you won't want to miss out on this spring!
Steven Malcolm - Tree (4/15)
Steven Malcolm has quickly become a force in the Christian hip-hop scene. In 2017 he released his debut full-length album, and since then, he has garnered over 58 million global streams. People love his music, and fans can get excited about his upcoming album Tree.
The album will be released on April 15 and features notable artists like Snoop Dogg, KB, Social Club Misfits, and others. As the title implies, Tree focuses on growth and "fruit that comes from a foundation rooted in truth," as Steven said in a recent interview. With a title like that, I'd say this is an album that is perfect for spring.
Brandon Heath - Enough Already (4/22)
When I think of Christian music from the early 2010s, I think of Brandon Heath. His songs "Give Me Your Eyes" and "The Light In Me" are iconic staples. But Brandon has released a lot of other songs since then, and he'll be dropping a brand new album this spring.
Enough Already features his recent feel-good radio single "See Me Through It," alongside other new songs like "This Changes Everything," "That's Enough," and others. This is his first release since his 2017 album Faith Hope Love Repeat and his first album with Centricity Music. It's truly an exciting time to be a Brandon Heath fan!
Anne Wilson - My Jesus (4/22)
Anne Wilson burst into the Christian music scene in April 2021. The tragic passing of her brother led her to write and release "My Jesus," which immediately became a #1 hit on Christian radio. To follow up her hit song, Anne released her latest single "Sunday Sermons" earlier this year, which quickly started climbing the radio charts.
On April 22, she'll be releasing her debut full-length album, titled under the same name as her hit song, My Jesus. The 15-track album features new songs like "Mansions," "God Thing," and "Mamas," featuring Hillary Scott. Anne Wilson is making waves, and this is certainly only the start of her career.
Stars Go Dim - Grace In The Wilderness (4/29)
Chris Cleveland is known for his inspirational lyrics and infectious pop songs that he's been releasing for over ten years under the moniker Stars Go Dim. Chris has an incredible voice, and every song he releases is catchy and will be stuck in your head for days (in a good way!). This spring, he'll be dropping a brand new album called Grace In The Wilderness. (I'd like to say he named it after me, but that probably wasn't the case.)
This 13-track album is due April 22 and features Chris's latest singles, "This Is Love" and "Yes He Does," alongside new songs like "What Your Love Can Do," "Satisfied," and "Prepare The Way." Personally, this is an album that I can't wait to listen to.
Manafest - I Run With Wolves (5/6)
I have fond memories of hearing Manafest's classic songs like "Every Time You Run" and "Avalanche" on Air1 Radio all the time growing up. Sometimes those songs will randomly pop in my head, bringing back all of those nostalgic childhood memories.
Although those songs came out years ago and artists tend to come and go, Christopher Greenwood is still faithfully releasing music under the name Manafest. On May 6, he'll be releasing a new 12-track album called I Run With Wolves. His latest single, "Gravity Falls," featuring Trevor McNevan, is another epic rock song, and it's just a preview of I Run With Wolves. With all of these new albums, this will be a great spring!
Grace Chaves has been a fan of all things Christian music since 2016. She is NRT's news editor, and one of NRT's youngest writers. Homeschooled, Grace is an author, loves Jesus, concerts, and road trips.
