Replica Audemars PiguetDancing is one of my favorite things to do. In quarantine, a lot of us had to find new hobbies and activities to engage in. I started to teach myself dancing and now it has become one of my favorite activities. There's something about dance that we all find amazing to watch. From how the dancer moves, connecting to the music, or the flow that the dancer seems to almost effortlessly pull off (trust me, it takes a lot of effort to get dances down that well).
Recently, there have been several Christian music artists that have incorporated music and dance together for their videos. Some have been solo dances while others have pulled off 30 people, highly choreographed dance groups. No matter the size, these incredible performances are featured in can't-miss music videos that are guaranteed to put a spring in your step.
Tauren Wells - "Fake It"
Tauren Wells has quickly become one of the fastest-rising artists in Christian music. With several radio hits and 10 GRAMMY nominations, he's an artist that blows us away every time. If you've ever seen Tauren live, you know that he is a great dancer. For his latest single, "Fake It," Tauren went a step further and released a fully choreographed dance music video. I love how this dance brings in Tauren's style alongside Michael Jackson's influence and gives it such a fresh performance. The video features a 30 person dance crew and, honestly, is one of the best-choreographed dance music videos I've seen in a long time, for ANY artist–Christian or mainstream.
Riley Clemmons - "Stuck Inside My Head"
Another fast-rising artist in Christian music, Riley Clemmons has taken the Christian pop scene by storm. Her inspiring music and infectious energy have made her a favorite among fans. In September 2021, Riley joined the lineup for the virtual fashion show and concert at SHEIN X ROCK THE RUNWAY 2021. Performing "Stuck Inside My Head" from her latest album, Riley amazed us with her performance. Singing and joining in the choreographed dance along with the many models is no small feature that she pulled off amazingly.
Jonathan Traylor - "High Up"
Since signing with Motown Gospel in 2019, Jonathan Traylor has proved he's an artist to watch. He's released an album and most recently his EP, I'm Here For You, that perfectly blends his style of Gospel, Pop, & Worship. He also blends his musical gift with his gift for dancing. Jonathan has been dancing and singing for many years and shows it off more each year. His new music video for his song "High Up" is the next example. The video features Jonathan artistically dancing through a house and down a street synced perfectly to the moving song as he holds our attention with just his solo moves.
Sarah Reeves - "Dance To It"
In mid-2020, I think it's safe to say we were all going through the feels in some way or another. It was then that Pop/Worship artist Sarah Reeves released her song, "Dance To It," that captured the moment in a positive light. The song was released on her mainstream pop debut album Life, Love & Madness. The song gave listeners a hopeful view that through the joys and trials, we can dance to it and have triumphed through the moments. The music video features Sarah along with a group of dancers dancing to the celebratory pop song in a stellar video performance.
Wande - "Big God"
Hip-hop music has a history of bringing many iconic dance moves and performances into the world. Although not seen as often in music videos, Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) dance teams have continued to expand, covering many high-energy songs. Bringing this movement into her music video, Reach Records recording artist WANDE joined with a team of dancers in the music video for her song "Big God." The song was released in the summer of 2021 and quickly became one of the CHH songs of the year. Featuring many modern dance styles, the video adds even more energy to the already empowering song.
A Week Away Cast - "Dive"
Because of my love for music and dance, I also happen to love musicals. So when the Christian musical A Week Away came out, I was hooked. The movie features many classic Christian songs covered by the young cast, all featuring stunning dance numbers. The song "Dive" is one of my favorite songs performed. The music video features many of the main cast and background dancers performing throughout the scene. Even though this entry isn't entirely by an artist, the song is led by new artist Kevin Quinn, who opened on Winter Jam Tour this year and recently released his debut EP. The video also features original artist Stephen Curtis Chapman who couldn't help but also join in on the summer anthem.
planetboom - "Walk"
I love planetboom. It's not a secret. The youth worship band from Melbourne Australia is the voice of the youth ministry at Planetshakers Church. They have released several albums filled with worship and electronic praise songs. Their song "Walk" is a great display of electronic, rap, and worship music put together that planetboom is known for and does so well. The music video shows a modern freestyle dance being done by a solo dancer as he walks around a street. The video editing and lit-up lyrics add to the epic performance.
Terrian - "Light It Up"
Terrian is another new artist that has been one to watch. She joined TobyMac's Diverse City band in 2017 and signed to his label, Gotee Records, in 2019. Since then, she has released several singles alongside her debut EP, Genesis Of Terrian. The EP features her hit radio pop song "Light It Up" that, parried with the joyful song, makes sense to have a dance music video for. The music video shows Terrian along with two other dancers dancing to the song in front of a white backdrop with flowers on the ground. The video gives this fun song an incredible and fun performance that it deserves.
