The Bottom Line EP by BrvndonP Californian BrvndonP set out on a personal journey beginning in February of 2021 to provide his fans with a 4-EP set of projects showcasing his wide range of talents across multiple genres. The Borderline EP released in February focused on an R&B-driven sound. He possesses a soulful vibe throughout accented with joyous vocal runs. The Outta Line EP arrived in June and was pop-based in time for summer anthems. The Lifeline EP in October switched gears to the meshing of worship and gospel music primed for Sunday services. Finally, the Bottom Line EP dropped today returns to his CHH roots. It goes without saying that God blessed BrvndonP to spread the gospel in a multitude of musical vehicles built on his traveling surroundings.
For the newest EP, BrvndonP brought along another RPSMG artist, Mission. Also, Glo Nation's Miles Minnick from the Bay Area. A few more featured artists include GodFearin, Scootie Wop, and Emanuel Da Prophet. A collection of young, indie rappers hungry to share the love of Jesus through hip-hop. The opening track, "Back To My Roots," possesses a classic west coast beat run by 808s and slammed piano keys. The content reintroduces the catchy lyricism and head noddin' experience fans of BrvndonP are used to hearing. Since he's a producer at heart, the EP provides a refreshing onslaught of live instrumentation splattered over heavy bass and infectious taps of high hats. The hook on "Strobe Light" reminds us how beautiful his harmonies come across in welcoming ears. "Back to My Roots" and "Wait Up" are personal favorites. The EP slaps regardless of the track bumpin' in your ears or out of the open window of your ride on a Friday night. Stream The Bottom Line EP on Spotify here.
indie tribe. feat. nobigdyl. & Jon Keith - "CECE" Half of the indie tribe. collaborate on the latest track from the tribe. providing the next certified banger before the second annual Holy Smoke Festival at the end of this month. Jon Keith and nobigdyl. are a problem across all channels of CHH. With time, they fine-tune their lyrical arsenal and delivery. Less than a handful of other emcees in the sub-genre can compete with the skill set these two provide. As mentioned on the track, they're similar to a modern-day version of the Grits. I'm a sucker for either piano-driven or acoustic guitar-led hip-hop tracks. Combined with the proper arrangement of 808s, such a soundscape always brings smiles to faces. As usual, the captured content through punchlines and wordplay brilliance excels. Verbal gems exist that some listeners may not pick up until after 15, 20, or even 50 listens. The tribe. leveled up. This summer will be something special. Stream "CECE" on Spotify here.
Scootie Wop - "SPIN BACK!"
South Carolinian Scootie Wop returns with his sixth single of 2022 and probably his best. A play off of Crash Bandicoot cover art and a revised sample of Crystal Waters' "Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)," "SPIN BACK!" contains high energy, and appreciation of our Lord and Savior mixed with catchy rhyme scheme gifts throughout. The production laced with the contained sample is incredible in itself. Then, add the fun and playful lyrical delivery Scootie Wop provides; the finished product is phenomenal. Honestly, this track will be on repeat for quite some time. Stream "SPIN BACK!" on Spotify here.
