Porsha Love - "Helga" Detroit rapper Porsha Love released her first single of 2022 kicking off "holy girl summer" once again. Her last release was last summer as part of the 2021 Reach Records summer playlist teamed up with Wande titled, "Don't Worry About It." Less than a year later, the single has gathered close to 1.4 million streams on Spotify. The new single was produced by Scootie Wop. The production goes crazy queuing the single up as one of the premiere bops of summertime; an anthem for all those Proverbs 31 ladies. Peabod - "MAD!" Seattle-based rapper Peabod drops his third single of 2022. Even "Mr. Happy Raps" has a tantrum sometimes (and it's okay). The single plays off our flesh-driven feelings when we're frustrated, upset, or just outright mad about how we're treated or a particular situation. I personally love the overall vibe of the track. A bit edgy mixed with rock undertones and an entire party bop. Also, the sample kicking it off fits quite well. The production of the track is just unadulterated fun. Now I Know EP by Zach Paradis
Raised in Cleveland, but now a resident of Atlanta, Zach Paradis is a sonic renaissance man of sound. He infuses portions of pop, R&B, hip-hop, and soul soundscapes into his art. Inspired by the likes of Ed Sheeran, Kanye West, and LANY, he possesses the mechanics of popular mainstream chart-worthy accolades and covers them with the hope, love, and faith found in a relationship with Christ.
The new EP is some of Paradis' best work to date, both in content and overall structure. It's like he knows the sound he prefers artistically and sits comfortably in those vibes. "Don't Wanna Want U" and "Now I Know" are favorites, but the entire 5-track EP is on repeat already. It's upbeat, uplifting, and relatable. As Christians, we don't have enough artistic examples in music of relationships, love, and everyday life situations. Most content related to such is based on marriage, not dating or the bond leading up to that wedding day. Paradis' perfects those vibes and feelings captured here.
