With over 50 albums under their belt, Australian worship band Planetshakers have become an underground force in worship music. Their internationally recognized songs of praise, adoration, and glory to our Savior have impacted millions and are sung all over the world. With so many incredible anthems, I've put together a short list of some of their biggest worship and praise songs for your playlists. Enjoy.
"Nothing Is Impossible (featuring Israel Houghton)"
Arguably their biggest and first smash hit, "Nothing Is Impossible" put Planetshakers on the map for many listeners globally. The song is backed by an upbeat rock influence with lead singer Joth Hunt and featured gospel artist Israel Houghton trading vocals respectfully. The song serves as a powerful faith stirrer with the chorus proclaiming, "Through You/I can do anything/I can do all things/Cause it's You who gives me strength/Nothing is impossible."
Since then, Planetshakers have released several modern verisons of the hit song, including a remix, an acoustic, and a live version. Whichever version you might find yourself listening to, I'm sure the song's message will lift you up wherever you might be.
"Endless Praise"
The album, Endless Praise, was more than just a hit album, it marked a new era for Planetshakers in their sound and ministry with their signature electronic elements and deeper worship moments becoming set in stone. The title track, "Endless Praise," showcases this perfectly.
The song blends slight use of electronic sounds with traces of their former rock sound still up front. The times my church has led this song, the sanctuary quickly erupts with a sound of joyful praise that I hope you feel from listening to it.
"Turn It Up"
To be completely honest, I love everything about this song. This song holds a special place in my heart; this is the one that made me fall in love with the Planetshakers ministry. From the strong bass line to the infectious ring of victory, "Turn It Up" is a can't-miss Planestshakers praise anthem giving full glory and honor to Who is worthy of it all.
The song is prophetic and energetic; it's a burst of genuine praise being lifted to Jesus. I don't think I'll ever get tired of listening, dancing, and singing along to this Planetshakers classic.
"The Anthem"
What was originally written for an end sermon moment, quickly rose to become a hit Planetshakers staple in the worship space. The song gives a beautiful picture of the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus. I love the raw melody and wonderfully done lyrics that never fail to take me into a moment of worship.
The lyrics are some that I've heard throughout churches, worship protests, and even hip-hop arena tours. Every time, a sense of love and awe for what Jesus has done always captives through the chorus, "Hallelujah/You have won the victory/Hallelujah/You have won it all for me/Death could not hold You down/You are the risen King/Seated in majesty/You are the risen King."
"This Is Our Time"
One of Planetshakers' heavier electric-infused songs, "This Is Our Time" is an energetic praise song that blew me away when I first heard it. Years before most worship bands started using electronic elements, Planetshakers were and still are using them to capture listeners in the joy we have in following and praising Jesus. As the song chants, "This is our time/This is our place/This is our moment to lift Your Name."
The song is a fun opening worship track to lead listeners to open their hearts ready to encounter Jesus. The joy-filled breakdowns, crowd chants, as well as the powerful instrument use come together to make a song I'm sure you'll want to dance along to.
"Great Outpouring"
I'll never forget when I first heard this song. I was returning home from serving at a ministry revival weekend in Washington D.C. Throughout the event, I had the honor to see hundreds come to Jesus, set free from addictions, healed from pain, and thousands worshiping Him together. Even though I was tired, I remember listening to this song on the way back as I cried my eyes out.
The song stirred me to a place of surrender before God. His Spirit moves: sometimes we see it and sometimes we don't. Nevertheless, He is reviving us again. Just like in the story of Pentecost, God is pouring out His Spirit in a fresh way to us. Joined with a beautiful blend featuring five of Planetshakers stellar vocalists and a near two-minute instrumental closing, I hope the Spirit of God touches you through this song as He did with me.
"Prophesy"
Remember how I mentioned Planetshakers used to have a former rock side to their worship music? "Prophesy" is one of those rare modern gems. Combining a modern rock feel with their cemented electronic elements, this song was a pleasant surprise for me. Although fairly recent, this powerful faith-filled anthem still remains one of my favorite Planetshakers songs.
The song is a call for believers to take hold of the authority God has given us to speak life over our situations. As the lyrics state, "I'll praise You/Like I've never known defeat/I'll praise You/Every second You've redeemed/I'll praise You/Your power rests on me/I'll praise You/Now for every victory/I'll praise You/'Cause Your Spirit lives in me."
