If you've kept up with worship music much in the past few years, you've probably heard of Maverick City Music. The now chart-topping and GRAMMY-winning worship/gospel group released its first project in 2018. Since then, they've become a movement that has shaken the world of Christian music and even mainstream music in a powerful way. Among the collective, there are a few leading voices that have also released standout solo projects. Here are the artists that make Maverick City's powerful can't-miss music.

Chandler Moore

One of Maverick City's most prominent voices, Chandler Moore has become a household name in Christian and Gospel music. Chandler first began his music career by releasing his first single independently in 2014. He then began singing backup for major Gospel artists Travis Greene and Tye Tribbett. Now, he has helped lead some of Maverick City's biggest songs, such as "Jireh," "Man of Your Word," and "Wait On You."

His recent 2020 EP, Feeling, is a perfect example of Chandler's songwriting and vocal skills. The EP is filled with honest and real songs of surrender and vulnerability before the Savior. The songs are beautifully crafted and expressed so well that it's quickly become one of my favorite gospel projects to listen to.

Brandon Lake

Probably the biggest name on this list would be artist Brandon Lake, and for good reason. He started as a worship leader at Seacoast Church before joining the Bethel Music family in 2019 with his song, "This Is A Move." Since then, Brandon has released several powerful songs including, "Gratitude," "Too Good To Not Believe," and Elevation Worship's hit song "Graves Into Gardens."

Brandon released his latest album, Help, through Maverick City's label TRIBL Records. The album is one of my favorites released this year (it's moving and creative). The album, inspired by Brandon's battle with mental health, is a powerful project that inspires listeners to hold on to the light of Jesus and to know that they're not alone in their struggles.

Naomi Raine

Naomi Ranie is Maverick City's lead female voice and a fan favorite in the collective. Her anointed and powerful voice has and continues to touch listeners. She has released several gospel projects over her music career including her 2017 viral single "Pour Me Out." Naomi has led and been featured on many of Maverick City's songs, such as "Promises," "Jireh," and "The Story I'll Tell."

Most of Naomi's projects have been amazingly well-done worship and gospel-focused music. Her latest album, Journey, however, sees her pushing musical boundaries. The record still features her signature worshipful gospel sound but with new influences guiding her. Venturing into a more urban-sounding and vulnerable project, Naomi's powerful vocals and gifted songwriting are sure to give listeners a treat.

Dante Bowe

Dante Bowe, another member of Maverick City Music and the Bethel Music family, is a powerful artist of the collective. The artist was saved at 16 years of age and joined Eddie James Ministries as a worship leader. Subsequently, Dante dropped his underground hit worship album, Son of A Father, independently. Now, he has had the chance to lead many major worship songs, such as "I Thank God," "Wait On You," and "Champion."

Dante's 2021 gospel album, Circles, demonstrates the depth of Dante's songwriting and vocal skills. The project features many upbeat feel-good gospel songs along with several deep reflective ones. The album is a creative and personal journey that takes listeners on a path of what it means to live life to the fullest guided by the love and truth of the Father.

Joe L Barnes

Joe L Barnes is another stellar voice with Maverick City Music. Similar to Dante Bowe, Joe has also worked with Eddie James Ministries, Joe has led worship for many years. He also serves as a worship leader for The Shepard's Tent in Covington, Georiga. With Maverick, Joe continues to help lead listeners into powerful moments with God through his songs, like "Promises," "Million Little Miracles," and "Ruins."

Joe is the only member of Maverick City's lead voices without a full solo project. In 2021, he released his debut single, "Come Back Home." The song is a personal and moving reminder of God's never-changing love that waits and calls for us all to come back to Him. It has a great mix of storytelling, gospel, and modern electric influences that'll touch listeners.

Maryanne J. George

Maryanne J. George, another of Maverick City Music's leading female voices, started in music as a member of her church's choir team. She eventually became the church's worship director. Since joining Maverick City, she has continued to use her gift in leading worship globally with songs like "Champion," "To You," and "Such An Awesome God."

Maryanne's latest project, Not Just Stories, another one of my favorite worship albums of the year, is a powerful listening experience. It showcases not only her powerful voice but her powerful songs of worship and adoration. The album features many of Maverick City's vocalists, along with some other friends that add to the amazing journey. Not Just Stories is a beautiful example of surrendered worship in awe of our beautiful Savior.

Aaron Moses

Last but not least, Aaron Moses is an incredible voice who also started his music career with Eddie James Ministries. Aaron is a lead voice of their Spanish team, Maverick City Música. He's been featured in several of the collective's hit songs including, "I Thank God," "Be Praised," and "Rumors."

Aaron hasn't released much solo music since joining Maverick City Music. In 2020, he released his debut worship EP, Here And Now, independently. To be honest, his project is the only one I hadn't heard of before writing this article. The not-so-well-known EP displays a passion for praise and assurance in God and His faithfulness. Paired with gospel influences, the EP is sure to be a treat for listeners.
