Christian music icon TobyMac has worked with other artists for decades. He’s written songs and made hits. And, through his record label, Gottee Records, he’s discovered many of them. The list is long: Ryan Stevenson, Hollyn, and Aaron Cole, to name a few.
TobyMac started his career with the legendary Christian rock band dc Talk, working with veteran artists Michael Tait and Kevin Max. Since DC Talk disbanded, all three have established successful solo careers. Michael now fronts the popular rock band, Newsboys and Kevin continues to pump out solo music.
TobyMac’s solo career, on the other hand, has seen the most success. After 20 years, he’s released 12 studio albums and over 20 successful singles. If you look at the tracklist on his albums, you’ll notice most have collaborations with other artists. And his new album, Life After Death, is no different.
It’s worth noting that most songs on TobyMac’s new album are collaborations. He worked with some heavyweights, too. The list includes pop artist Tauren Wells, folk artist Zach Williams, Bethel Music’s Cory Asbury, and many more. Here are a few recently released TobyMac collaborations—some from his new record and some not.
“The Goodness” (feat. Blessing Affor)
In the past year, new pop artist Blessing Affor has made waves on the Billboard Christian radio charts with his hit single, “Brighter Days.” He also scored a collaboration with TobyMac on his new single, “The Goodness.” The song is featured on TobyMac’s new album.
“Promised Land” (feat. Sheryl Crow)
It’s always good news when a Christian singer collaborates with mainstream singers. Earlier this year, TobyMac dropped a collaborative version of his 2021 hit song, “Promised Land” with rock icon Sheryl Crow. The collaboration is also featured on TobyMac’s new album.
“Perfectly Loved” (feat. Rachael Lampa)
Earlier in the year, veteran artist Racheal Lampa released a version of her worshipful ballad, “Perfectly Loved” with TobyMac. The collaborative effort is currently climbing Billboard’s radio charts.
“The Elements (Neon Feather Remix)” (feat. LEDGER)
“The Elements” is a single from TobyMac’s 2018 album of the same name. Skillet drummer LEDGER lent her vocals to create a remix version of the song.
“Stand” (feat. Newsboys)
Newsboys released “Stand” as a single in 2021. And earlier this year, the band released a collaborative version with TobyMac. It’s a great song where TobyMac gets to work with one of his DC Talk bandmates.
“Space” (feat. DC Talk)
Over the years, fans have wanted DC Talk to reunite. Well, now it’s happening. “Space,” a song from TobyMac’s new album, brings the legendary trio back together. Maybe the song is a sign of things to come. Hey, one can wish.
