It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years since Kutless released their debut album—and, recently, their new single, “World On Fire.”Whether it's near death experiences or epic tour pranks, there has been a lot of life lived since Kutless released their first album.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Kutless re-recorded three songs from their debut album and added a 'Kutless in 2022' flavor to them. As we continue the 20th anniversary celebration, I spoke with Kutless members Jon Micah Sumrall and James Mead on the NRT Now Podcast to share some stories.
Jon Micah and James talked about the history of the band and the members who have left a mark on the band's legacy. They also gave some hints as to what the future holds for Kutless, although they aren't leaking too much out just quite yet. So far, we have one new single.
James says, “One of the songs that people have heard a brief clip of last year is very, very heavy. It's called “End Of the World”; it's about the apocalypse. It's seven-string guitars, it's so heavy you're going to—you're going to poop. I mean, it's crazy. It's happening. Here we come. You've got to deal with it.“
Jon Micah adds, “I thought you weren't going to give that information out, James. You just said it's secret and you just let it out of the bag.”
James responds, “Listen, I want to give people a little bit. We're really excited about it.”
