Citizens is an alternative band born in Seattle, but ministering globally with their signature sound. They bring a revolution to the traditional feel of praise and worship and thoughtful insight to their listeners. Group leader, Zach Bolen, describes their newest album, I Can't Find The Edges of You, as "a record for the lost, last and least." Recently released, the eleven-track collection details a journey away from indecision and instead toward the peace found in surrender.

The phrase "my heart is bound" is reflective of this entire song. It begs the question: are we fully committed to our Heavenly Father? Or are our priorities divided? Split attention never ends well because there is not full dedication anywhere. God's omniscient nature clearly allows Him to do more than we could ever do, but that does not mean we are incapable of fixating on Him.
The author of our future and the original dreamer. He is our creator. The more flashy options aren't worth it, I promise. Because even our deepest desires and craziest hopes don't compare to His plans. Only as we cherish and cultivate His presence will the path He has created for us be revealed. He will remain at the forefront of our minds as we go about our day if we only let Him. He works wondrous miracles and turning your life into a beautiful display of His grace is just one.

To know You
Sometimes take God's grace for granted. His overflowing love for us is a gift we don't deserve. I understand how difficult it is to overcome pride and recognize this truth. However, it is the key to comprehending His sacrifice for us in the form of Jesus on the cross. It is not something we could ever earn, no mere reward for a life well lived. Rather it is a chance, just as the group sings, that we should not squander.
"I want to know You, more than I know You," Citizens goes on to say. Pushing after more of Him is the result of the hunger we receive after humility. As we bow low to lift Him high, He gives us an overabundance of yearning for Him. This void in my soul is so precious to me because it's something I can't "fake-fill" with worldly things. I pray that you will reflect on His sacrifice today; as you come to terms with our mere place at His feet, may He fill you with deeper longing for His presence.
