CLINE is an incredible band that prioritizes faith, family, and music. Their history as country musicians shaped their sound; now, their songs' lyrics reflect their walk with the Lord. They released their first CCM single two years ago, and I'll dive into their popular melody, "Worthy One," on which they collaborated with Mo Pitney. In addition, they have funneled their passion for God into their latest song, "Worship In The Waiting."
"Worthy One" feat. Mo Pitney
"Begotten of the Father
Eternal word made flesh
You walked among the sinners
And conquered sin and death
Crushed and pierced to give us life."
The details CLINE uses to accentuate the lyrics of this song stood out to me. Alongside Mo Pitney, they do an incredible job communicating the journey of Jesus as He walked with the fallen children of God. It is that very experience that allows our Savior to relate to us in our pain and comfort us with empathy. I do not speak an empty truth when I assure you that He is with you. He knows how you feel, and is desperate that you discover the deeper victory He won for you. He is the embrace in our sorrow, yes, but also the path forward and the companion next to us as we take each step. The "worthy one" is with you and He understands.
"Worship In The Waiting"
"Even here there is a song
When everything is going wrong
There is an anthem
Stirring in this desperate place."
CLINE is authentic and that quality reflected in this song made me feel instantly seen. "I will worship in the waiting/believing through the breaking." I'm sure all of us can relate to how difficult it is to come to that place of praise during the trials of life. We get stuck between our devotion to Jesus and the letdowns of this world. I pray that the balance will get easier, with more focus on Jesus. I believe God can lighten the load. Nevertheless, it is vital that we learn to praise Him even under the weight of life. How else will we shift our focus to Him so He can ease the burden? I want to restate that God is with you and He's not leaving. But let's learn to worship Him anywhere He takes us.
