“Count Em” by worship artist Brandon Lake is a rock-influenced anthem about God’s great power and all the incredible things He’s done. I came across this song when I was facing problems that, if I’m being honest, felt so big that I had moments of questioning whether God would help. And yes, I know what the Bible says about God’s character and promises.
And yes, I have tons of testimonies throughout my life of God coming through for me and so many other people I know. In a weak moment, I let emotion get the best of me. I took my eyes off Jesus and fixed my eyes on the size of the challenges I was facing instead of on the greatness of my God. Have you ever had one of those moments?
That’s why I love “Count Em.” This song praises God for how big He is and for all the miracles He has performed for His people throughout the Bible and our personal lives. When we recall how powerful and steadfast God has been in the past, it fills us with confidence that He will be mighty and faithful to assist us in the present.
As you listen to “Count Em,” praise God for who He is and let that reminder help you fix your eyes on Him, who is so much more powerful than whatever challenge you find yourself in today.
Proverbs 18:2-3 (NLT): “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.”
Lyrics
You got thunder in Your vocal, You got flames in Your eyes You got wonder-working power pouring out of Your side Checked the tomb all the way through, the grave was empty inside Ain’t no other pull the greatest miracle of all time You got power; demons cower when they hear Your name called You got power; that still towers, make Goliath look small You got power; to devour any counterfeit roar Even Your tongue is a sword; count up the score You are the Lord Holy You are the Lord Holy You are the Lord Holy You are the Lord Holy
