2024 is off to a great start for new Christian Rock and Metal. Critics will say that those worlds are dead, but they're dead wrong. All it takes is a little digging. I've done a lot of digging for you, along with some friends over at For The Rock and KingdomCore on Instagram. Here, you'll find excellent bands and artists, most of them independent, too.
Facedown Records has begun its new music releases this year, with Meadows at the forefront. I'm excited to see who they'll sign this year. The iconic Christian death metal band, With Blood Comes Cleansing, has announced a new lead singer--Robert Manzone from Searching Serenity. As the year continues, I'm hoping for more Christian rock music, as the metal world is championing the start of the year with so much great music already. Stay tuned to NRT for more music news.
Meadows - "What Is Truth"
One of the best record labels for any fan of Christian rock or metal is, without a doubt, Facedown Records. I highlight them often, and for good reason; they find and support some of the most impressive artists. One of the newer additions to the family in the last few years is Meadows, a hardcore band from Alabama. This 5-piece band has started releasing new singles for their next record, Familiar With Pain, releasing on April 29. The latest of which, "What Is Truth," is a stirring song that explores the events surrounding Jesus' final hours. This record will be immensely emotional and impactful, resonating with any follower of Jesus.
Spoken - "Sleeper"
It's always encouraging to see bands who have committed to releasing Christian-based music continue to make new music. Spoken is no exception. For over 20 years, they have created metalcore and hardcore music that focuses on the human life while maintaining a biblical worldview. And I love that they haven't wavered in their heaviness over the years. "Sleeper" is the newest track from their upcoming record, Reflection, unleashing on March 15. Some excellent vocal guests will be featured on this record, including Ryan Clark from Demon Hunter. If you've never listened to Spoken, Reflection will be a great introduction to their talent.
Diamonds To Dust - "Child of the King"
If you're looking for more Christ-centered death metal, look no further. Diamonds To Dust has been proving themselves as one of the most brutal and theologically sound death metal bands in the Christian music scene. This band is similar to legends like Impending Doom and mainstream death metal band Lorna Shore. Go listen to their newest single, "Child of the King," and try to prove me wrong. If Diamonds to Dust can continue to make music for years to come, they'll become one of the biggest names in Christian metal, while proclaiming Christ to the lost.
