for KING + COUNTRY's music video for "What Are We Waiting For" portrays band members Joel and Luke Smallbone emerging from sand dunes that had been burying them; now they are able to walk freely. It's a powerful image to illustrate the heart of the song.

I'm guessing we all have an idea what it's like to feel buried and battered by a previous season of life. I know I do. It's easy at those times to stay stuck going through the motions and to continue in the same patterns from an old season, even though we might see that things in our lives are beginning to change and shift into a new season.

Often we carry on, not reaching for what walking with God in friendship looks like in a new season. Not reaching for the hope and newness God has for us on the other side of the trial we've just experienced. Not stepping out to serve others the way we know God has called and gifted us to make a difference in their lives. Not praying and believing for God to do good things in our lives and the world around us.

But the good news is we don't have stay buried beneath the weight of the past. When God turns the page in our lives, He invites us to grab hold of His hand and follow Him into the new as He leads us. This new single inspires us all to ask ourselves: What am I waiting for? What step of faith do I need to take today? Dare to dream again and step out, clinging to the hand of Jesus, and see what beauty He might bring forth from it.

Ephesians 3:20 (NLT): "Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think."

Lyrics

Can't be what we can't see
Can't speak when we can't breathe
Can't dance if we don't move our feet
It's a blur tryin' to keep pace
Days are running like they're in a race
Can't move if we're in our own way
I guess the crisis is
We've just one life to live
And no one knows what happens next
So what are we waiting for?
What are we waiting for?
Why are we wasting all the time like someone's making more?
What are we praying for?
What are we saving for?
What if we could be the light that no one could ignore?
What are we waiting for?
