Have you ever walked through a hard situation that made you question things about God you knew to be true? I have. I've been through seasons in which I found it hard to pray the promises of God's Word because I experienced so much disappointment it was hard to believe again, even though I knew God was true to His character and His Word. I've let hopelessness get the best of me at times and told myself, "things will always be this way," even though I knew the Bible tells we have hope in Jesus and nothing is impossible for Him.
Songs like "Never" by Tasha Layton are important because sometimes we just need to be reminded of the truth. God will never leave you. He will never fail you. He will never forsake you. No matter how tough the trial you're going through, or how heavy the burden, or how deep the questions. God is always with you, caring for You, working in Your life, even when you can't see it. Just like Tasha sings about in this song, think back on the past seasons of your life when you have seen the goodness and faithfulness of God, and let those testimonies remind you that He can and will be faithful to you in the present and in the future.
Hebrews 13:5-6: "...For God has said, 'I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.' So we can say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?'"
Lyrics
When this broken world is breaking me down
When my tears and knees both fall to the ground
When my questions make me doubt You more than ever
You remind me that Your answer is always never
Never forgotten
Never forsaken
Never abandoned
Not for a second
I am safe in Your hands
Always and forever
You're never not working
My heart is the proof
There's not a broken too broken for You
Will there ever come a day when You're not holding me together?
You say never
