Terrain's latest single is inspired by one the most famous passages in the Bible and the longest sermon Jesus ever gave. It's called The Sermon On The Mount. In it, Jesus lays out what His people should be like and what His Kingdom is all about. In the song "Matthew 5," Terrian finds a catchy way to cleverly capture the sentiment of some of those truths. As followers of Jesus, we are loved and cared for by God, we should be peacemakers, we should be lights in this world that point people to Jesus, and we get to pray and God hears us.
This song is a great way to get God's Word in your heart. So, in addition to adding this song to your playlist, I have a challenge for you. Grab a Bible or Bible app this week and read Matthew 5-7 and learn more about the values of Jesus' Kingdom and the lifestyle of His followers. And maybe, use the lyrics of "Matthew 5" to help commit some of those truths to memory.
Matthew 5:3-9 (NIV):"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
