Each week, dozens of singles and a handful of projects are released in the Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) and Urban Soul spaces. Derek Minor x Canon x Aklesso - "Theme Music" Reflection Music Group’s Derek Minor, Canon, and Foolie Vision’s Aklesso team up to collaborate on an energetic, powerful anthem for any competitive situation. Noticing we’re all a part of a declining world fallen to global dysfunction and broken systems, aid has arrived. The track puts the world on notice a revolution is coming. All three artists declare a superhero is needed; Jesus fits the bill. In a society cluttered with sin, evil, and all things unpure, God reigns for all those seeking hope and justice. Jay-Way - "Take It" Newly independent, Jay-Way is reinventing the manner in which genres cross, mix, and influence each other. Jay-Way never fit in any specific genre-driven box, lane, or soundscape. His unique sound meshes hip-hop and alternative rock with a touch of pop-driven melodies. His latest single is no different from such a formula. Jay-Way takes us back to a time of influences by Stellar Kart, Relient K with hints of Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit. The type of sound created in your parent's basement or garage. Raw, yet authentic. Playful and fun. A sound absent from the radio waves in modern day. It's refreshing to the listener's ear. It's a sound that always puts Jay-Way in my top 10 artists I love to vibe to. Like It or Love It by Thre
HISstory Music Group's Thre releases his sophomore album. The 10-track project showcases some of his best friends within the industry including Jeremiah Bligen, and Gemstones as well as other key contributors. Thre is consistent with his personal approach to the content and the production which surrounds his thematic ideals. Everything feels intricately pieced together like a detailed puzzle.
A few favorites include “The Blood,” “IRGB,” and “Fisherman.” One thing I’ve always loved (and admired) about the artists involved with HMG was their hearts behind the artistry. Always authentic. Always genuine and always about winning souls for Jesus. Stream Like It or Love It on Spotify here.
