Each week, dozens of singles and a handful of projects are released in the Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) and Urban Soul spaces. Come and See. by Torey D'Shaun Homebody Records and RMG Amplify present the first album from Torey D’Shaun since he joined the indie tribe collective in 2023. Come and See. offers a vulnerable, translucent model of D’Shaun’s heart and soul throughout 12 tracks. He self-produced the entire project aside from help on two tracks from Cristopher Calicutt (“Christian’s Song”) and WEARETHEGOOD (“Repent”). D’Shaun desires fans to question God through calculated research, meditation, and scriptural studies until you fall in love with Him. Many situations, scenarios, headlines, and related material sometimes make believers question the existence of our Lord, His impact, and His presence in our hearts. However, if you cling to the Rock, the Foundation, our Savior; God shall never fail us. D’Shaun references John 1:46 when two disciples discuss whether anything good can come from the city of Nazareth. Philip responds with, “come and see.”
Favorites off the project include “CHRISTIAN’S SONG,” “REPENT” featuring Hulvey, and “EAST SAINT BOOPIE.” Besides longtime friend Hulvey, D’Shaun has featured verses from J. Monty, KB, Kimani Jones, Ezra Laron, Ishiah, 3700 Nesso, Janae Harris, and Jori Harvey. Not only does D’Shaun provide a vibrant voice for the voiceless, but he takes difficult conversations and infuses hope from our Lord and Savior. Practice EP by Jackie Hill Perry Reach Records' latest signee and renowned author, poet, teacher, and podcast host, Jackie Hill Perry releases her first project since 2018. The title of her first ever EP alludes to her craft as we’ve all heard, “practice makes perfect.” Lecrae has already mentioned this project services as a prelude, an appetizer even, leading up to her debut album with Reach to be released soon after. JHP is precise with her timing ensuring it aligns with our Father’s timing. For personal reasons, she feels the season to share her mind, heart, soul, and skills in poetic, hip-hop form has arrived. The CHH space has been signing praises of hallelujah as the entire industry has impatiently anticipated a return after a string of freestyles would randomly flood JHP’s Instagram profile.
Eight tracks are included with her only pre-released single “First Draft” included. Only one feature was noted being Afrobeats artist Sondae. However, keep a close ear to each track as you may hear a few familiar unmentioned voices. The press release from her label states, “Each track has a different approach, yet delves deep into theology and motivation, reflecting her strongest convictions of faith.” As we all know, JHP has a gifting for the delivery of words in various formats. Lyricism takes the spotlight regardless of the track selected. Knowing her, a study guide itself could accompany the EP to help catch the magnitude of insightful content within. Roy Tosh and Canon - "All We Do Is Win"
Reflection Music Group (RMG) and RMG Amplify nominate Roy Tosh and Canon to tag team a track with media distribution, syncing, and placements in their immediate line of sight. This single should be an immediate addition for anyone's personal gym or workout playlist. Professional sports should be primed to add this single to any of their broadcasts across all the major networks including ESPN, Fox Sports, and CBS Sports to name a few. G.I Pro produced the track "causing a ruckus" with the beat switch up, drums, and pounding piano keys. Stream "All We Do is Win" on Spotify and Apple Music.
