Each week, dozens of singles and a handful of projects are released in the Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) and Urban Soul spaces. Talk To Me Nice, Vol. 2 by Jered Sanders Independent artist Jered Sanders drops the second volume from the Talk To Me Nice series. The first volume was released on March 1, 2024. The 12-track follow-up project possesses infinite energy and just feels “bigger”. The tracks resonate more with anthems and Friday night bangers as opposed to a more sincere, refined side of Sanders from the debut offering. The featured artists list includes Vory, Phil J., 2’Live Bre, Mike Teezy, Toyalove, and Alano Adan.
Favorites include “Great God,” “DCR2,” and “Take It Easy” featuring Mike Teezy. Honestly, this album contends with Torey D’Shaun’s Come and See. project for talks around album of the year. Sanders didn’t have the backing of a major label or a team of this and that. Piece by piece, he constructed one boom bap classic after another. This is authentic hip-hop at its core. Forrest Frank - "YOUR WAY'S BETTER" Forrest Frank's "YOUR WAY'S BETTER" is a mid-tempo worship song that emphasizes the importance of trusting in God's plan. The song features a catchy melody and upbeat production, making it easy to sing along to. Frank's vocals are smooth and expressive, conveying a sense of sincerity and devotion.
Lyrically, the song focuses on the theme of surrendering to God's will and finding peace in knowing that His way is always the best way. DEON feat. KB and Scootie Wop - "Check"
Capitol CMG, Originals, Inc.'s DEON links up with two of the hottest emcees in the CHH space for a certified banger. "Check" by DEON, KB, and Scootie Wop is a high-energy hip-hop track with a catchy beat and strong verses from each artist. The song boasts a confident and boastful tone, with the artists showcasing their lyrical skills and flexing their success. The production is well-crafted, with a heavy bassline and energetic percussion that drives the track forward. The beat provides a solid foundation for the artists to deliver their verses, and the overall sound is polished and professional.
DEON, KB, and Scootie Wop each bring their unique style to the track, resulting in a dynamic and engaging performance. DEON's smooth flow and melodic delivery complement KB's aggressive and technical rapping, while Scootie Wop adds a dose of Southern flavor with his laid-back delivery and catchy hooks. While the song's lyrics focus on wealth, success, and material possessions, it is undeniably catchy and fun to listen to.
