In early November, I was honored to attend praise band Red Rocks Worship's Good Plans 2024 Tour at Three Oaks Church in Gallatin, Tennessee. Although it was a last-minute addition to my week's schedule, I was excited to catch them live and finally worship God through these songs. I've wanted to see Red Rocks Worship live since I became a fan of them in 2019 with their album Breakthrough.
I had the opportunity to meet and interview the band at the 2024 Dove Awards just the month before, which was a huge blessing and made me even more ready to experience this tour. Tyler Roberts from the band told us about the tour during the Dove Awards; "These are not just concerts. These are nights of worship where we are experiencing the presence of the Lord. They are nights of ministry where we invite everyone, no matter who you are or where you come from, to experience the real, true, living God. His Name is Jesus, and it's only Him."
As the night kicked off, Red Rocks Worship took the stage and gave us all total praise to Jesus. The band members continued to take turns leading songs and speaking between them with the truth of God's word, who He is, and who He has made us. I loved how real and down-to-earth they were, along with their genuine passion for Jesus, which was on display. During the song "Echo Holy," I forgot I was at a concert and was lost in worship as the room of several hundred people declared God's holiness and beauty above all else. The band continued singing both new songs and some of their biggest hits.
During worship, I was impacted powerfully by God. The week before, I had gone through so much heartbreak and loss that was still weighing heavy on my heart. The enemy was using the words said by my ex-girlfriend, ex-friends, and people I thought I could trust to lie to me about who I was. However, that night, I felt the Holy Spirit move in a powerful way. During the song "Living God," I felt a freedom wash over me as we worshipped and danced, declaring who God is and who He is to us. God used so many moments throughout the night to heal and restore my heart that I can't explain. It was powerful not just for me but to see people of every age worshipping Jesus with full faith and devotion.
Halfway through the night, after a short intermission, the band slowed down and played an acoustic set of other popular worship songs. The crowd stood back up and couldn't help but sing along with songs like "What A Beautiful Name" and "Goodness of God." It was beautiful to see the band worshipping together. The night was not a performance but a group of believers worshipping Jesus together. Seeing the band steward and rest in His presence was refreshing.
Around the end of the night, the band led the songs "Breakthrough," "Something Has To Break," and the music that inspired the tour, "Good Plans." Something shifted during these songs. One of the pastors came up during the song "Something Has To Break" and shared his testimony of healing and seeing God do miracles in his own life. He passionately encouraged us to set our eyes on Jesus and know how He will always come through. We all prayed together in agreement and continued worshipping in a place of victory and the freedom God poured out.
As we sang "Good Plans" to close the night, I felt refreshed and on fire again for Jesus. We all have moments where that flame sadly dies out. However, worshipping Him in His presence felt like I was being set free from guilt, pain, and brokenness. When Jesus steps in, things truly begin to change. I was so impacted and blown away by the fantastic band and team for leading these songs with grace and passion that impacted everyone in the room. We left the concert with faith rising in our hearts that we have a faithful Father who is truly worthy above all else.
