Happy 2025, all fans of music! Each week, dozens of singles and a handful of projects are released in the Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) and Urban Soul spaces. Below, we listen to a few highlights and list the rest for your own discovery. As always, follow our New Christian Rap & Hip Hop playlist on Spotify and Apple Music to listen to all the latest.
Mike Teezy - "Stay With Me" North Carolina native independent artist Mike Teezy begins 2025 with an array of sounds meshing hip-hop, rtythm and blues, and pop contemporary beautifully. It's ballad-like nature possesses sprinkles of concentrated sixteens, harmonies, and an overall dance vibe. Themes are built between love, heartbreak and vulnerability. The single marks one of Teezy's most diverse creations to date. Stream "Stay With Me" on Spotify and Apple Music.
NK4 - "iSmile" Independent Bay Area (California) artist, producer, graphic designer and engineer, NK4 starts off 2025 with a worship-driven heater based on Nehemiah 4:10 and Jeremiah 29:11. The title is a play on Apple marketing, but this is music for all generations and backgrounds. NK4 expresses the multiple reasons to smile based on the goodness, grace, and love of God. Production credits go to Tahi who gains credits for most of the anthems out of the west from the likes of Miles Minnick, Mike Teezy, George.Rose and others. As noted, believers are blessed by the actions of God when we walk in faithfulness with fruits to bear and show. Stream "iSmile" on Spotify and Apple Music.
Kidd Lee - "Who Did It?"
Forgiven Music's Kidd Lee starts off 2025 on the first day with brand new music based on 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. No matter how far we fall short, how weak our strength remains or the obstacles we face, God is enough. It's in his sufficiencies, we find comfort, calmness and peace. Regardless of any trial or lack, God fulfills and in abundance. Stream "Who Did It?" on Spotify and Apple Music.
