Each week, dozens of singles and a handful of projects are released in the Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) and Urban Soul spaces. Below, we listen to a few highlights and list the rest for your own discovery. As always, follow our New Christian Rap & Hip Hop playlist on Spotify and Apple Music to listen to all the latest.
WHATUPRG - "Cien Docenas (A Hundred Dozens)" The review of this single will be posted shortly.
Priorities by Tragic Hero ("Safer" and "Pressure") Hometown Hero Records’ Tragic Hero continues to expand the diversity of his catalog, proving that listening to his work is always an adventure. Priorities serve as both a reaffirmation and reinvigoration of his perspective on life’s challenges. Battle scars and all, he’s only strengthened his resolve, demeanor and approach with the backing of God’s promises.
Tragic Hero trades in his usual minimal and haunting sounds for warm, soulful samples provided by prolific veteran hip-hop producer Wes Pendleton. The double single also features electrifying adlibs from DJ Mykael V. Straying away from his motif of cautionary tales, he plants his feet firmly, looking ahead with determination. Stream Priorities on Spotify and Apple Music.
New Christian World Order (NCO) feat. International Show, Q-Flo, and outr.cty - "Warm Up"
"Warm Up" marks New Christian Order's triumphant return after a two-year hiatus, reintroducing their signature style with a burst of energy and lyrical finesse. Q-Flo, International Show, and outr.cty trade verses back-to-back, delivering thought-provoking punchlines and intricate metaphors over a head-nodding beat. This track isn’t just a warm-up—it’s a statement, showcasing the group’s sharpened skills and setting the stage for what’s to come in this new chapter of CHH. Also, a special thanks to Rapzilla's Justin Sarachik for the write-up assistance. Stream "Warm Up" on Spotify and Apple Music.
