What do these genres all have in common: metalcore, post-hardcore, and rock and roll? A passionate fanbase searching for something authentic. It is not just about another heavy band with lyrics full of hating God or hopelessness; heavy music fans crave something real with substance. Across the metal and hardcore scenes, we need bands that bring both talent and deep conviction in their faith. I watch artists who stay true to their faith while delivering excellent music. If you're looking for powerful, faith-driven songs that hit hard both musically and spiritually, check out these releases and playlists; we've curated them to help you find the music and bands you need.
REFORMED - "False Teacher"
One of the greatest bands in the Christian metal scene currently is REFORMED. These guys bring some of the most brazen and passionate messages to the masses with their straightforward, biblical calls for repentance and worship of the Lord. Their excellent new single, "False Teacher," follows their confrontational songwriting style. They swing for the pulpit with this song, condemning false teachers and leaders in the Church. You can relate to this song if you've experienced hurt from the Church. This message is continually needed and is well-written.
Death Therapy - "The End Is A New Beginning"
After four years of patiently awaiting and anticipating new music, hard rock band Death Therapy returns with "The End is a New Beginning." It continues the electronic-influenced metal music that Jason Wisdom, the lead singer, and writer, has been crafting for some time. After a soft intro, the song's chorus hits hard, reminding us that our home is beyond this place and is death to be something feared but celebrated for a new beginning. The lyrics are relatable and empathetic. This song serves as a strong comeback for Death Therapy.
Plead The Widow's Cause - Silver Glass Stare
Beyond the massive metalcore scene, there are hidden gems within other genres where great artists await to be heard and seen. Plead The Widow's Cause released their debut album, Pain Split, in 2022. It was a surprise but a welcome one. This New Jersey-based band is the real deal. Their recently released record, Silver Glass Stare, is one of the best post-hardcore albums I've listened to in a long time. This record is mature and spiritually deep. It is a profound release that will quickly make its way toward the top of many hardcore fans' favorite releases of 2025. Congratulations to Plead The Widow's Cause on such an impactful album.
