Let’s be honest. Sometimes, we look at what’s happening in our lives and the world around us and get discouraged. It can be hard at times to hold onto hope. I love “I Still Believe” because it features hip-hop artist Lecrae and the popular duo for KING + COUNTRY acknowledging the gravity of life's challenges while also celebrating that, even in difficult times, we can still hold on to hope for Jesus.
He can fully intervene in circumstances in our world and our lives to turn things around and bring change. He can revive us spiritually when we’re dull and complacent. He can heal physical, mental, relational, and emotional wounds. He can bring peace to chaos. This is the hope you’ll hear in “I Still Believe.” We hope for the return of Jesus, who will come back to right every wrong and fill the world with His peace and righteousness.
I’m praying here and want to invite you to do the same. Especially if you’re feeling discouraged, ask God to help you do what Romans 12:12 says: “Rejoice in our confident hope, be patient in trouble, and keep praying.” So, continue to hold onto hope for what God can accomplish in this life. While doing so, keep your hope anchored in the perfect restoration that Jesus will bring to the entire world upon His return.
Romans 12:12 (NLT): Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.
Revelation 21:3-4 (NLT): I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
Lyrics
In the hearts of the lonely, spread around the world There’s a little bit of hope, that this will turn around And we’ll all see that Heaven is here and now Whoa-oh, and I still believe You are the One who wears the crown Walls are burning down ’cause Your love is a fire, fire The time’s different, the vibe’s shifted, our minds sickened I keep trying to keep hope alive, ’cause time’s ticking We’re fine dying with fine dining and fine linens We die empty ’cause most of us never tried living Cage full of the broken lives, stayed while they slowly died Crazed, I went out my mind, prayed when I saw the signs Hypnotized, victimized, empty lies Emphasized, kicked aside, end of times, still we rise Rose out the grave like a day shift Died for the nameless who laid on the pavement (pavement) Drained from the pain, but I’m patient ‘Cause victory is coming, I can taste it In the hearts of the lonely, spread around the world There’s a little bit of hope, that this will turn around And we’ll all see that Heaven is here and now Whoa-oh, and I still believe You are the One who wears the crown Walls are burning down ’cause Your love is a fire, fire Uh, point us to the Light, twenty-five, but I’m facing twenty-five to life Uh, I been up for like twenty-five nights Praying that the Lord can turn my wrongs into rights Risk it all just to live, I been runnin’ for years Had some problems at home (home), guess they followed me here Yeah, they can hate me now (now), still never break me down I got the faith of a titan. God’s gonna bring me out Lost some battles, but we win the war. Read the headlines I’ma fight till I’m finished or see the deadline Never give up the fight, never give up on life Keep on running through the darkness until you see the Light And I still believe You are the one who wears the crown Walls are burning down ’cause Your love is a fire, fire Oh, I still believe that You are breaking through the clouds Lighting up this town, and Your love is a fire, fire
