Each week, dozens of singles and a handful of projects are released in the Christian Hip-Hop (CHH) and Urban Soul spaces. Below, we listen to a few highlights and list the rest for your own discovery. As always, follow our New Christian Rap & Hip Hop playlist on Spotify and Apple Music to listen to all the latest.
The Rap Pack by Anike (fka Wande) Reach Records’ Anike returns with her second small collection of music in EP form. Taking a step back to March 17, she announced an open verse rap challenge using the instrumental of her viral song with Lecrae titled, “Send That.” In turn, this EP includes five tracks from her 2024 sophomore self-titled album and a fresh take on “Jesus Musik” featuring Queen Lee and 1K Phew.
Lecrae’s “Jesus Musik” featuring Trip Lee debuted in 2006 as a groundbreaking track which solidified him as a pioneer in Christian Hip-Hop (CHH). Anike had the following to say about the reimagined track, "Jesus Muzik is a classic that celebrates being unashamed of your faith in your music. Music is often the soundtrack to many of our lives. With Jesus Muzik II, we continue to celebrate our love for Christ and boldly share our faith through music."
Marty (of Social Club Misfits) feat. Wordsplayed - "PLANET HOLLYWOOD" Apollo Records' Marty drops his third single in 2025 featuring Mr. “Wipe Off the Dust” Wordsplayed titled, “PLANET HOLLYWOOD.” The basis of the track details Marty’s first year living in Los Angeles after the move from the Miami (Florida) region. He touches on celebrity churches (“why your pastor gotta dress like he Willy Wonka.”), leaving a major label (“I formally reject your offer, the boy a free agent.”), and the differences of today’s culture (“I met your boyfriend last week, so that ain’t your father.”). As usual, Marty’s playful wordplay and demeanor takes center stage. Wordsplayed piggybacks off the humor Marty presents with a few clever forms of wordplay stylings himself. The innovation of Marty’s production credit progression is quite noticeable as he takes a spin off of boom-bap rap and adds his only flavors and spices. Stream “PLANET HOLLYWOOD” on Spotify and Apple Music.
Angie Rose feat. Toyalove and Dkg Kie - "Victory! x2"
Tribl Records’ Angie Rose returns with the sequel to one of the most streamed tracks from her recent album titled, The Letters I Never Sent. After a short stint and impressive collection of soul, R&B-driven singles, Rose returns to her gritty, raw talents of lyricism. This time around, she tagged Toyalove and Dkg Kie to add their own vocal talents. This has all the makings of a certified anthem of faith. The three artists exclaim how victory is found through Christ Jesus in all things. Hopefully, lyrical Rose stays around for a bit. Stream “Victory! X2” on Spotify and Apple Music.
