This week as I am writing from the shores of Silver Lake outside of Spokane and I am truly amazed by the glory of God's creation.
I am surrounded by thousands of little reminders of how great our God is, everything from the trees to offer shade to the warmth of the sun.
It is absolutely beautiful here and I can't help but think I am in the presence of one of God's creations. It's a little overwhelming.
Creation is such an awesome event and yet it can so easily be taken for granted, and often is.
For one, without creation we would not be here. That may sound like a really "DUH" statement, but think about the implications of creation for a moment.
First, creation implies that there must be a creator, and being created is a purposeful act. You don't create something on accident. Something may be made by accident, but creating involves thinking about the process and making purposeful decisions to create a desired result.
The Bible does not say that we were merely created, but that we were created in the image of God. Of all the things that God could have created and did create, He chose to make us in his image.
He designed us specifically and on purpose, for a purpose, not by accident.
The Bible also illustrates that in creating us, God made each one of us uniquely gifted and truly special.
This week my challenge for you is to take a few moments out of your week and look around you at what an amazing playground God has given you. Think about how unique and special you are and read the first few chapters of Genesis to remind yourself that God did all of this on purpose. You have a significant purpose and God has created you to be something wonderful.
Final Thought: God created you for a purpose and desires to see you fulfill everything He has planned for you.
