Andy Kirk is a 22 year old worship artist from Nashville, TN. Having traveled the country leading worship for churches, camps, and conventions at only 17, he has collected a unique perspective on music and ministry from a very young age. “Growing up within the local church, I was blessed to see God leading me early on,” Kirk Shares. “As a teenager I watched as God brought leaders into my life, shaping me into what he had designed for me, into a life devoted to worshiping him in song.”
Kirk recorded his first independent worship project at 18 with the Jeff Deyo Band (formerly of Sonicflood) that garnered him a publishing deal with one of the largest Christian music publishers in the world, Brentwood Benson, home to such notable artists as Jars of Clay, Third Day, Aaron Shust, Bebo Norman, and many others. It was this relationship that opened the doors for him to begin writing songs with many of the most prolific songwriters in Christian music today. While Kirk wrote for Brentwood he was included on the worship compilation record “Worship Arising” along side dove award winning New Artist of The Year, Aaron Shust, Jon Abel (Author of “Awesome Is The Lord Most High” – Tomlin), and Laura Story (Indescribable – Tomlin).
After writing and traveling across the nation full time for two years, Kirk was approached about leading worship for the second largest and most innovative church in America, LifeChurch.tv, based out of Oklahoma City. In 2008 he and his wife Elizabeth moved to Oklahoma to partner with LifeChurch.
During his tenure their, Kirk led worship 7 times a week for anywhere from 3,000 to sometimes 6,000 – 10,000 people a weekend at their different campuses and events. “I was humbled to be a part of something that God was obviously using very strategically around the world,“ says Kirk. “We were able to watch as God brought churches and worshipers together, under the vision of a Church literally without walls, with a heart to see nations come back to the Lord.”
Kirk quickly made an impact on the culture of worship at the Northwest Oklahoma City Campus, by injecting new and original music into their worship experiences each weekend. Kirk and the leadership of LifeChurch watched as God grew the heart for worship tremendously, through originality and creativity. Kirk led many times on their Internet Campus platform where his worship sets were, and are still being broadcasted into over 120 countries around the world as people join together worldwide to attend church worship gatherings in online communities set up by LifeChurch.tv
After a over a year of fruitful ministry as a LifeChurch.tv worship pastor, Kirk was approached by a record label about recording a new worship record. After much thought and prayer he looked to the leadership of LifeChurch where he was encouraged to share his music on a larger platform. In 2009, maintaining a great relationship with LifeChurch.tv and lead pastor Craig Groeschel, Kirk and his wife moved back to Nashville, TN where he would sign with 1CN Records/Provident to begin a new record.
Kirk’s much anticipated debut release “Wake Up My Soul” will hit stores and radio across the nation in the spring of 2010. The title of his new record reflects Kirk’s heart as he explains, “I hope to see God’s people awake from their slumber, from the numbing effect of culture and society, to the knowledge and revelation of who Christ is and what He can do through us, if we choose to worship Him. I’m truly humbled to see what God has done with a small seed of talent in my life, and I am eager to share these new songs of hope and surrender with the Church.”
Kirk now leads as an Artist In Residence at Hopepark Church in Nashville in conjunction with his nationwide touring schedule. Andy and the band look forward to an exciting and powerful year of ministry in 2010 as they share their heart for worship across the nation.
Love This Entire CD!| Posted July 09, 2010
I was given this CD as a gift and Wow- I love every single song on it. This is a very powerful worship record with chorus lines that are easy to find yourself singing along with. I enjoy listening to this CD while driving as much as I enjoy it when I am walking in the woods or even cleaning house. Every song speaks to me and every song inspires me. Andy Kirk is really a very gifted young man and such an inspiration!
Blessings to you and your band, Andy. America needs more Godly young men like you carrying God's message through music.
