Two time Grammy Award winner Rebecca Lynn Howard was born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky. Her big break came when she recorded "Softly and Tenderly" for the soundtrack of the 1997 Robert Duvall movie, "The Apostle". In 2001 Howard and Jim Brickman recorded a number 1 single "Simple Things". Again in 2002, Howard scored a hit as both an artist and songwriter with "Forgive." In 2004, she received the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) award for the Recorded Event of the Year for "Livin', Lovin', Losin' Songs of the Louvin Brothers". In 2005, Howard received her second IBMA award for "40" a tribute to Bluegrass legend Larry Sparks. Rebecca's angelic voice has graced the work of artists such as; Patty Loveless, Vince Gill, and Dolly Parton. Rebecca has spent the last couple years honing in on her songwriting craft as a staff writer for Murrah Music in Nashville. She is currently involved in a project "Songs 4 Worship" for Time Life that is scheduled for release October 2, 2007., "The Apostle". Since then she has concentrated on her touring and song writing. After a brief hiatus she is pleased to find herself by a fresh new team management team and a new label "Starponte Records" Look for new and exciting things coming soon.
