In the early part of 1993 Bryan Gray, then the bass player for "Mortal" and Jim Chaffin then the drummer for "The Crucified" met on a tour the two bands did together. Soon after this tour "The Crucified " disbanded. In the Fall of that same year "Mortal" recorded their third release, and being in between drummers asked Jim to sit in. Soon after Bryan approached Jim about being in a new band called "the "Blamed. Their first album was recorded in the beginning of 1994 and released through Tooth and Nail Records.
"the Blamed" toured extensively through '94 and '95 including appearances at several of the larger summer Christian music festivals. During these years the band toured with several other bands including but not limited to "Mortal", "Circle of Dust", "Living Sacrifice", "Klank", and "MXPX".
In early 1995 "the Blamed" recorded and released their second project Frail, also on Tooth and Nail Records. Towards the end of the year Jeremy Moffet and another member of "the Blamed" joined the band "Stavesacre" and focussed their attention there. At the same time, Bryan and Jim began a new band "Left Out". Bryan also collaborated in the writing of some songs for "Six Feet Deep" for their album The Road Less Traveled. During the summer of 1997, Bryan moved into the Jesus People USA Christian community in Chicago, and soon after began working with guitarist Jeff Locke and bassist Johannes Hansen both long time Jesus USA members.
After nearly a year of playing with each other, writing some great new material, and involving Jim Chaffin again as drummer, Grrr records released a new project by "the BIamed" entitled "Forever."
