It's really not their fault they're siblings. That's the reasoning behind Silent Substitute's motto: "We're siblings in a band, not a sibling band." The half-girl, half-guy quartet has been described as "Flyleaf meets Superchic[k]", or a more cheerful Evanescence. The band is most honored, however, when compared to their original influence, DC Talk. They describe their own music as "Hard-Fifties-Jazz-Rock" and played over 70 shows last year. Silent Substitute feels called to spread a message of hope to this generation.
