Growing up in the small town of Red Oak, Texas Amy Douglas has always shared a passion for music and a Love for the Lord. Saved at the tender age of 6 ,little did she know that God had major plans for her life not that far down the road.
At the age of 17 Amy felt God calling her to ministry but was unsure of direction. Upon attending college and graduating with a bachelors in music, God revealed to her a much larger plan. Enter "Get A Life" Ministries. A Ministry born when God called Amy and Husband Jared, a member of Team Impact, to full time speaking and Music Ministry in 1997. Since its inception "Get a Life" ministries has taken the Douglas' all over the country visiting and effecting thousands upon thousands of individuals for the body of Christ. In 1999 and 2001, while traveling in full time ministry, Douglas recorded two self produced projects. In 2005 the Douglas family proudly welcomed daughter Jayden Faith to the world, Whom Douglas states has "already got the airport routine down pat."
Looking back, it was during the initial years of "Get a Life" Ministries that Amy began to explore in songwriting and realized that God had even greater plans for her as an Artist.
"My life verse is 1st Timothy 1:12 "I Thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service." Amy states " I am amazed everyday how God uses such Cracked and broken vessels like myself to show the love of Christ and impact lives for Him."
Using this scripture and taking a very personal approach to writing, Douglas relies on her own life experiences to set the stage and fill the content for her debut release on Mission House Music-Nashville. "Heart of Courage," a collection of self written songs, probes deeply into her real life emotions as a mother to everyday life choices while maintaining an honest approach to reality and most importantly to ministry.
The signature song of the project, and first written, is "Hero at Home." A song of which Douglas hopes and prays will raise awareness and support for not only the troops that so valiantly serve our country but also for the families that stand courageously behind them in support of their mission. Inspired by the dedication of her father and her husband to military service, Douglas taps in to the heart and the soul of what makes America great and what makes our freedoms altogether possible, God and Country.
Behind Amy's music, is an a list production team consisting of the Christian Mega Group ,Sonic Flood. Flood Band Members, Tom Michael, Todd Shay and Brett Vargason team to produce a powerful blend of worship at Nashville's Zod Lounge Productions. Throw in appearances by Michael Omartian and a host of other talented individuals and Douglas "Heart of Courage" easily goes above and beyond the listeners expectation of what great, inspiring music is supposed to be while never losing the deep meessage within.
