In 1996 Minister Maharold Peoples, Jr. brought together a group of anointed singers who emerged as Maharold Peoples, Jr. & Tribe of Praise with their first CD in 2001 entitled The Millennium Project.
The Millennium Project includes prayerful, soul-searching songs such as "He Loves Me", "Intimate with You" and "Issues of Life". This freshman project was said to have listeners worshiping, praising, crying and jumping! The groups dedicated praise to God, through music, taps into the musical quality of Walter Hawkins and Kirk Franklin.
Maharold Peoples, Jr. & Tribe of Praise (MP2 & TOP) completed their sophomore project in 2006, Theory of Evolution. Led in words and orchestration by the multi-talented Minister Peoples, MP2 & TOP's thought provoking songs such as "The Way a Man Thinketh" and "Theory of Evolution" along with inspirational selections "He Broke Me, to Bless Me" and "Faith will Work (if you work it)" is a testament to the talent and innovation of the group. MP2 & TOP is not just a choir of singers creating Christian Pop. They seek to permeate the soul by giving listeners profound spiritual messages as well as exciting, rhythmic and melodious music that will minister over and over again.
