Nothing compares to a visionary whose time has come. The ministry of Norman Hutchins has been at the core of gospel music excellence for more than 15 years and the best is yet to come.
Thirty years after receiving his Doctorate in Church Administration, Norman continues to share his vision and anointing as he meets the countless demands of preaching, teaching and singing the Gospel of Jesus Christ world-wide. Still, the accolades keep coming. With a recent 2007 Stellar Award nomination just one of many, a Grammy Award and a Dove Award nomination, Norman Hutchins has already acquired acclaim not only as a singer, but also as an exceptional writer.
With numerous hit albums to his credit including "Battlefield", "God’s Got A Blessing (with My Name on It!)", "Jesus, I Love You", "Emmanuel", and "God is Up To Something", Norman’s career continues to soar. His latest project entitled Spontaneous Praise Volume One displays the multi-talented clergyman as executive producer, producer and writer.
While a member at the West Angeles Church Of God In Christ in Los Angeles, California, where Bishop Charles E. Blake is the pastor, Dr. Hutchins served as the “Executive Minister of Music” for more than 250 churches. Dr. Hutchins was also the “Director of Social Services” where he had the opportunity of ministering to more than 18, 000 members.
In addition to his past accomplishments, Norman’s abilities have now taken him into uncharted waters. He now serves as Pastor and Founder of Frontline Ministries, the founder of IR Music Group and the CEO Of Impact Entertainment Media Group, A Family Value Alternative for Stage and Media.
Norman will tell you music is his gift, but preaching is his calling. While serving as Executive Minister of Music for the presiding Bishop of the Churches of God in Christ as well as serving as the Director of Social Services at the West Angeles Church of God in Christ in Los Angeles, Norman learned some very valuable lessons that would prove to be invaluable down the road. While suffering through a brief stint with blindness, Norman never lost his passion for God. He continued to preach, write and sing the gospel of Jesus Christ during those tough times. Consequently, we are now privileged to witness another level of his ministry that only comes from one who has had a mountaintop experience with God.
Spontaneous Praise Volume One is this pinnacle that reaches far beyond just words and music. It goes back to the very heart of worship. Co-produced by Mike Bereal and engineered by Hal Sacks, these compositions will challenge the praisers to true praise and the worshippers to true worship. There are some moving moments that put you in touch with vertical and horizontal praise as only the masterful songwriting of Norman can do. Norman’s unique ability to connect life’s dangling discords through music will send chills through you as you listen to songs like “the Dedication Medley” “It’ s Your Season to be Blessed “and “There’s No God Like Our God”. Spontaneous Praise Volume One can be defined as God’s power meeting us at the very point of our need when we dare to praise and worship our creator.
So now it’s time to raise up and send the praise up as we experience this mountaintop recording which promises to be known as a new genre of praise and worship music—Spontaneous Praise.
