Dan Ryker grew up in Corvallis, OR. Music was a part of his life from an early age; singing in choirs, playing piano, musical theater, etc. Dan became a Christian at the age of four, and has continued that relationship with Jesus steadily.
His senior year of high school, Dan unexpectedly lost his eyesight over the course of a month. He was almost completely blind for a year and a half. Then his sight miraculously began to come back. It was much better, but still left Dan significantly visually impaired. This has presented Dan with numerous challenges. One of them was not being able to read music any more. This caused him to begin learning to play piano by ear, eventually to start writing songs, & strongly effected his musical style & skills.
Dan attended Willamette University for two years & graduated from Azusa Pacific University in music education. During these years there were many music groups & tours.
Dan is currently a worship leader in Corvallis, OR. He has a wonderful wife, two little girls, and one little boy.
Other than his relationships with God & family, Dan's passion is music ministry. He loves writing & playing worship music, leading worship sets, & training new worship musicians. Dan values his Worship Music Ministry Training Course more than any song he has written, and considers this type of training ministry to be one of the largest parts of his calling.
