Kal - trop - A medieval weapon with four spikes so disposed that when it is on the ground, one spike always points upward; used in warfare to obstruct the passage of cavalry, armoured vehicles, etc. The war is on and the battlefield is thick with enemies that would like nothing better than to destroy us. Can one man truly make a difference in the fight against evil in this world? How can one so small, avoid being trampled by the rampage of darkness that’s threatening to consume our generation? In times of old, soldiers would disperse kaltrops on a battlefield. These seemingly small, worthless pieces of iron could thwart an entire enemy cavalry charge and turn the tide of a battle. We (Kaltrop) believe that, just like our namesake, a person can be used to do tremendous things in this world, no matter how small and insignificant they may seem or feel. Keep your eyes on the King and He may just use you to turn the tide of the war.
If you live or have ever lived in Owen Sound, ON, chances are you might be related to one of the guys from Kaltrop. Ha, yeah, it’s a definitely a small town, but these guys haven’t let that get in their way. Kaltrop started about three years ago in a small basement with nothing but some brand new instruments and a dream. It took a few tries to get it right but a few name changes and members later things are starting to look on the bright side. Playing shows with such bands as “Hello Kelly” and “After the Anthems,” Kaltrop likes to describe their music as “active melodic rock.” If it has loud guitars and a good catchy melody its pretty much good. These guys love to rock. So far they have been building a loyal following around the Owen Sound area but are now looking at breaking out and going new places with their music. The stage is set and the players are in place. Are you ready?
