Jamie Slocum is no stranger to the Nashville landscape. Having moved to Nashville in the '90s, Jamie has steadily honed his talents and skills all the while learning that real success was found in his deeper dependence on the Lord Jesus Christ.
He started as a staff songwriter for Curb Records. Music Mogul Mike Curb thought Jamie should be doing his own music, which led to a record deal. He has written and produced many hit songs for Country/Pop and Christian music as well as many jingles. "Grace Changes Everything" was his first hit as a solo artist and climbed to No. 7 on AC radio in 2000.
Jamie's single "Dependence" was a #1 hit for 11 weeks on Light AC radio. The song was nominated for "Inspirational Song Of The Year" at the Dove Awards.
"Dependence is a special song to me. It really breaks down who I am inside. Very simply the life I have always wanted is a life where the Prince of Peace knows my name. He is where my freedom starts. Jesus is where I go everyday in bad and good weather. He is where I find my rest. God has seen it all before. What can this world do to me if He is with us? Romans 8:31, 'If God is for us, who can be against us?' God brings me such energy and joy! I look forward to sharing how He helps me in my life. Every night in concert the energy and smile concert goers see is from a kid who once heard about Jesus. I could not turn away from Him."
Jamie's music was used in the film Breaking The Press in 2011. In 2015, he had songs featured in two other films: The Sunday Horse and Martial Arts Kid.

Jamie Slocum's Dependence CD reflects a deep personal relationship with God that is often lacking in today's religious environment.
It doesn't matter what you are going through, or what your personal beliefs are, you will find something in Jamie's music that soothes your soul & brings you back to the peace that can only be found in a strong belief system & personal relationship with you higher power.
