The Fold is a Chicago based Indie rock band on Tooth and Nail Records which began from the remnants of four previous bands, including Warner Brothers group, Showoff and Chicago-based bands Starstruck and Epsin 12. Showoff members Daniel Castady, Kyle Lewis and Magoo teamed up with former The Juliana Theory drummer Neil Hebrank after departing from Showoff's lead singer Chris Envy. The current members are Daniel Castady, Aaron Green, and Keith Mochel. Mark Rhoades left the band recently. The Fold was initially a secular rock group releasing one home-recorded EP and played their first show ever with that lineup on August 4th, 2002 headlining Third Party Productions' annual Punk/Ska Fest at the Rhythm Room in Cleveland Ohio with Tooth Fuzz and Trendy. The Fold has now finished the recording of their new album, Secrets Keep You Sick, which was released on May 22, 2007.
From a rather complicated tangle of events, and by a sometimes dark and winding road, The Fold have managed to not only survive the rough times, but to make the best of them. Their upcoming sophomore album, "Secrets Keep You Sick," is evidence of the bands ability to channel their experiences into powerful, infectious songs. Produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount (Cartel), and slated for release on Tooth & Nail, the eleven tracks stand as a sincere soundtrack to the last couple years of their lives, and an open invitation to the rest of the world to share the experience. The bands musical prowess and melodic maturity combine to make perfectly crafted music, full of undeniable hooks and passionate lyrics. These songs are about letting things out, says Castady, sometimes sharing your self and your struggles is the only way to move on. "Secrets Keep You Sick" reveals a group quite capable of making something beautiful of life and finding a way to encourage the rest of the world to do the same.
