Jack Yates is an Instructor in Music and Gospel Choir Conductor at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, the same school from which he graduated in 1994. His rise to public notoriety came as a member of the renowned James Grear and Company of Minneapolis where he served as one of the lead singers and staff songwriters of GrearCo Productions. He toured and recorded extensively with the ensemble, and several of the recordings reached national acclaim through Stellar Award Nominations. Jacks vocals were featured on Don't Give Up (1998), Set Me Free (2000) and Peace Be Still (2002).
Jack has worked with the famous duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, performing on the Prince of Egypt and Emperor's New Groove soundtracks. He also provided the lead vocals on a remake of Youngblood's classic from the 70s, Get Together, which received rave reviews in both the gospel and mainstream markets.
