For country girl turned Jersey Girl Terry Boch, the demands of motherhood and marriage have always been difficult to balance with her love of singing and songwriting. But it’s that very balancing act that provides the authentic energy behind her debut album, “Something Better.” A fusion of rock, blues, inspirational, and a little bit of country, Boch’s music is inspired by the real life experiences of a woman running, and struggling with, the race of faith.

“My songs tell the story of life’s struggles, while speaking directly to the hope that can only come through faith. And although the message is all about walking with Christ, I wanted to make some music that plays just as well in a club as it would in a pew.”

Produced by Dove Award winner Plink Giglio, the 10-track independent album was recorded in northern New Jersey with renowned studio musicians. With seven originals and three cover songs, the eclectic blend of genres highlight Boch’s style and vocal range featuring the title track, “Something Better,” an alternative rock statement of faith, the haunting crossover “Not That Girl,” and the bluesy, heavenly-minded “Home,” where Boch sings about “longing for a place I’ve never been.”

Music was always in the center of Boch’s small bungalow home on her family farm, where she sang 3-part harmony with her older sisters. From fronting a high school rock band in her native Southern Illinois, to worship services in churches on the east and west coasts, weddings and coffee house gigs, the enthusiastic response to her soulful vocals and evocative songwriting have spanned over 20 years.
