Singer, songwriter, Blake Belford attributes his musical talent and ear for music to none other than God. Being a grandson of a Church of God preacher and growing up in a contemporary style of praise and worship, Blake was always involved with music. As he got older, Blake always had a thing for being on stage. Over the years Blake has also taught himself how to play a few instruments, including the drums, piano, and acoustic guitar. The most rewarding thing to Blake is being on stage and singing for God. With writers such as Jason Cox and Sam Allen, Blake has written songs that are different than the Christian music that most have been accustomed to. His writing style is exemplified with exciting rhythms, tuneful and catchy melodies, and expressive meaning of the lyrics. With influences from Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Hillsong, Blake and his band create a energy filled environment full of praise and worship for God on stage, in hope to lead people into a state of praise; which is what he is called to do. After arriving at Belmont University in August 08, Blake has become a regular session demo singer and session player with Skywater Productions and BradHill Productions, which has helped him further develop his career in music that he is pursuing. Blake feels that this is what he wants to do for the rest of his life, therefore he tries to live through the bible verse that states, “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13.
