South Carolina's My Friend Stephanie formed form the ashes of singer/songwriter Drue Bachmann's previous project, Sunday Blue, which dissolved in 1995 when financial problems and injuries Bachmann incurred from an accident while touring made it impossible for them to continue. After intensive reconstructive surgery and recuperation, Bachmann reunited most of the members of Sunday Blue as My Friend Stephanie. This incarnation of the group released Makeover on Innocent Media, but as money troubles overtook the label, My Friend Stephanie hired their own booking, merchandising and radio support, which led to successful tours in 1996 and 1997. The group released All The Pieces in 1998 on Gray Dot Records, and One Of Those Days followed in 1999.
