"Praise God in all His glory" proclaims breakout independent Christian Recording Artist and Worship Leader Chris Bray, when asked about his latest endeavor. "The Worship Album is my sophomore release" explains the singer/songwriter, whose debut album, "Just Hang On", was a cross over release in both Mainstream and Christian markets. "I really felt God was calling me to focus my direction for this new project. I fully relied on Him to provide in all aspects of the record, and I truly believe the success of the record is because of that decision".
"The Worship Album" has received overwhelming success thus far. In May of 2009, the first single, "Called" went #1 in Canada for the More Radio Top 5 Chart and peaked at #19 on the Canadian Christian Radio Chart while maintaining more than six weeks on the Top 30 Radio Chart alongside industry veterans Chris Tomlin, Matt Maher, Jars of Clay, Newsboys etc. In addition, "Finally Let Go", the second single, debuted #5 in Canada on the More Radio A/C Hits Chart in July 2009, and was selected to be on the Rocking Romans 2009 Compilation CD. The follow up single then went on to reach #1 on the More Radio Top 5 A/C Hits Chart in September 2009 and reached #27 on the CCRC Top 30 Chart.
This new album is part of a collaboration with Canadian producer Andrew Horrocks, whose work includes Thousand Foot Krutch, Brian Doerksen, Vineyard Music and more. "I truly enjoyed working with Andrew, he is the next Ed Cash of Christian Music". Anyone who has listened to the new album will tell you that the music draws you into a deeper level of worship. The twelve song album encompasses a pop/contemporary style from rock anthems to emotional ballads. "My goal for this new CD was write songs that people could simply enter into worship with".
In addition to songwriting and the release of the new album, Bray continues to tour and lead worship for concerts, conferences, retreats and churches all over Canada and the United States. "I love meeting new people and entering into worship with them. That is one of the reasons I started Absolute Worship." Bray founded the program several years ago with a goal to draw people together in the name of Christ in worship. "People have been responding well to the worship event and it's great to see all denominations come together, setting aside their differences and simply worshipping one God". "My desire to release this new project spawned from my involvement with Life Teen." Bray has led the music for Life Teen at his local Church since 2003. "Being involved keeps me grounded and renews my faith. The long anticipated follow-up to his 2005 release has been met with incredible response. "I feel this new CD is the beginning of something great, greater than I ever could have accomplished on my own. Amazing things happen when you are open to God's will!"
Bray is currently partnering with Compassion Canada to help promote the sponsorship of Children in need. "This is something that I have felt called to do over the past few years. As an artist I have the ability to influence people, but that also comes with a degree of responsibility. I have a platform now, and I want to use it to share the Gospel and help others".
