“There’s this subculture of artists emerging in today’s worship music...an awakening is happening” Truer words than this could not be spoken from worship singer, Matthew Reed, as many new artists are starting to redefine the lines of corporate worship music.
Matthew began his passion for music when he received a drum set one Christmas from his parents at the age of 4. From there, he added guitar and bass to his repertoire as a further experiment in music. As a teen, he went on to help plant Church of the Highlands as a founding member of the worship team under the leadership of Chris Hodges, which has now become one of the fastest growing churches in America. During this time, he was also mentored under worship leader Daniel Bashta as part of his traveling band.
Now Matthew is becoming the artist by writing and creating new sound for this generation. “My heart is to create a new sound- a prophetic call to this generation to awaken and unite as 'one voice' to see hope arise in the darkest places.”
“I pray that my music gives people another opportunity to feel His presence and join in the eternal song of “Holy, Holy, Holy,” says Reed.
Matthew is preparing for his debut EP in Fort Lauderdale, Fl, with the help of producer, Michael Rossback (Gungor, Jared Anderson, Paul Baloche). "Come and Drink" will be released on May 31st on iTunes as a digital download.
