Born and raised in Southern California in a Christian home, Christina Falub discovered her talent as a singer at a very young age. Growing up, family and friends witnessed a once little girl transform into a young woman with an extremely big voice. Soon enough, Christina began using her talent alongside every opportunity that confronted her: church choirs, worship services, and school events, even performing the National Anthem various times for her local high school. What was once a hobby for Christina became a lifestyle that permeated every facet of who she was, allowing her impactful voice to be used for a much greater purpose: glorifying God. “Music is like a prayer,” explains Christina, “Everything can be spoken through a song.”
It was early on in her life that Christina realized her faith needed to become her very own decision to make. She desired something real: a relationship with Jesus Christ. That essential realization paved the way for Christina to pick up a pen and begin putting her mind, her heart, and her soul into melodies and lyrics. Her shimmering melodies match the intensity of her heartfelt lyrics. “My biggest inspiration is Jesus,” proclaims Christina. “His Word and the love He demonstrated on the cross have left me speechless. All I can do is surrender to His will and sing praises to Him. The Lord always sings over me a new melody that echoes constantly in my mind – and that’s how melodies come alive for my songs.”
At 18 years of age, Christina Falub will deliver a debut that will reflect her honest and personal sanctifying journey of faith. The joy of reflecting Christ through her music surpasses any earthly desire for man’s affirmation and accolade. “I want people to walk away encouraged and in love with Jesus more and more. He is the only reason I sing. Without Jesus at the center, everything else is meaningless and empty”, explains Christina. Her debut album “Swept Away” is a beautiful collection of raw, intimate, and thought-provoking songs intended to encourage, refresh, and bring the listener’s full attention back to her very own first love, Jesus. “A huge inspiration to my music is Josh White from the band Telecast,” says Christina. “His words are so profound and cut deep to the core. His songs are so unique and doctrinally sound. It's not so much about the structure of the song; it’s about the lyrics and how each word glorifies Jesus,” explains Christina.
“What I want to accomplish through my record is to know that I gave it my all. I want to look back and say, ‘Wow! God was honored and the gospel was preached through my music.’ After listening to her stunning debut, the listener will leave with the reality of God’s beauty and how He desires for us to treasure Him above all else. “I pray that each person who listens to my music will meditate on the love of Jesus and how amazing He is. He is the complete reversal of what this world has to offer. He loves us so passionately, as if there were never any blemishes.”
Set to release August 9th, 2011, Christina’s full-length debut album is one to wait for in anticipation. Christina recognizes the incredible opportunity in front of her and is determined to make the most of it. She is living the dream the Lord set before her. “I want to make Jesus known and reach out to the lost by offering them hope in Jesus Christ through my music. Christina is looking forward to having friends and family, and namely, complete strangers who do not know Christ become a part of this journey. “I’m so blessed and fortunate to have been given this opportunity! To Jesus belongs all glory and honor forever and ever!”
