Step right up to the world of Benjamin Dunn And Friends and CIRCUS OF LOVE.
With their unique expression of love and worship and a catalog spanning the genres from synth-driven dance music to free-spirited pop to today’s indie-folk style, Benjamin constantly reinvents his sound to follow his ever-evolving artistic vision. The Central California native has spent the last 8 years traveling across not only America but to the far corners of the world, sharing his unique sound and helping people in need along the way. With two solo studio albums already under his belt, Ben has a treasure trove of songs, both touching the church and general market worlds.
Ben has written many of his songs while ministering to and spending time with people in third world countries who live in garbage dumps and leper colonies. Often on visits to these regions, songs seem to spontaneously come to life as Ben and his friends sing and serenade beautiful people who have been forgotten by the world.
The artist’s latest musical venture is no different. Produced in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at Attic Studios by Ben and Nathan Horst (SisterBrother), Circus of Love, switches gears and invites many friends to join in the experience.
“With any music project I think the creativity and quality of it can only be as good as who you choose to create with,” explains Ben. “On Circus Of Love I collaborated with a lot of great artists and really from that creative collective came the band ‘Benjamin Dun And Friends’.”
With the instrumental quirkiness of accordions, banjos, organs and glockenspiels, the album is in the style of the über, of-the-moʼ indie-folk genre. Described by Ben as “childlike and fun,” the songs, like his other albums, are a great blend of religious and nonreligious themes.
Standouts of the album include the songs “You’re Everywhere” and “Circus of Love,” which have already caught the ear of advertisers for Hollister and Mark Eco Clothing companies.
Benjamin Dunn And Friends just one of the creative pieces of Joy Revolution, an organization founded by Ben and his wife Stephanie. Together they have been helping, loving and sharing their lives with the poor since 2003. They are a couple full of genuine love and are passionate about the little, the last and the lost and will not forget them. Known for their child-like joy and unique creativity in their expression of salvation, they are pure artists at heart.
Ben has recently authored his first book entitled The Happy Gospel (Destiny Image Books), and Stephanie has just finished writing a children's book called Where My Roots Grow. Together, they live an itinerant life of ministry, traversing the globe singing the joys of salvation, teaching, touring and worshiping in clubs, churches, conferences, leper colonies and garbage dumps.
