Jim Hitchcock was born on an air force base in Azores, Portugal and has lived in the southern California area since the age of one. A singer/songwriter/guitarist since his teens, he began playing in bands in and around Orange County, California in high school, at the University of San Diego and at clubs like The 32nd Street Café & Saloon in Los Angeles and The Marine Room in Laguna Beach. He began recording at The Riff Raft Recording studios in south central Los Angeles, the studio where Chris Isaac (a major influence) first recorded at. “A Coast Highway Christmas” is his third release and captures the same “California” sound of his previous 2008 release “Grateful” – lush vocal harmonies combined with chiming, jangly 12 string Rickenbacker guitars reminiscent of 60’s legendary group, The Byrds
