Born and raised in Southern California, Jordan Lara aka “JL” is 24-year-old, up and coming recording/performing Hip Hop artist and song writer. His career began in 2005 when he recorded his first EP with Hip Hop group “Soul Chronicle”. In 2006 he released his first album with the same group entitled "Eyes up." For years, JL has written, recorded and performed in several realms, building up to the release of his current work and first solo album entitled, "City of Hope". The title came as a tribute to his father’s battle with prostate cancer in 2011 and the name of the hospital he was treated in. “City of Hope” is due to be released August 7, 2012.
On and off stage JL speaks passionately about the miracles God has done in his life and credits his family, world travels and powerful testimony as the heart beat of his music and lyrics. He desires to see and make the Lord known and to be apart of any opportunity for Him to use his gift and talents to influence lives.
By trade, Jordan is a commercial real estate broker, a leader in a number of projects, and a musician as his art form and true passion. He is currently in the works of launching his own company with the vision of brokering the connections between artists and investors in the entertainment and music industry.

This guy is going to be the next Lecrae, no lie. He's still got some growing to do, but for this being his first mixtape, this is absolutely incredible. Solid raps, several well executed originals along with an incredible cover of Fort Minor's song "Where'd You Go", his mixtape is an absolute must-have for rap fans, as well as anybody who just enjoys good Christian music.
